MINOR RULES/PROCEDURES AMMENDMENTS IN 2001 STARS RULEBOOK!!!
Apple Creek,OH 1-23-01
Race teams competing with the Renegade STARS Racing Series in the 2001 racing season will see some minor changes to the 2001 rulebook. The ammendments concern some race rules/procedures and some car construction rules. The rulebook remains, outside of the 2001 amendments that have been instituted, relatively the same as that followed during the 2000 racing season.

"We have done some minor tweaking with our race rules/procedures for the upcoming 2001 racing season", stated Renegade STARS Racing Series Race Director Bret Emrick. "The amendments mainly concern the provisionals we use and how we want our races to start and restart. The amendments we have instituted really won't affect what the fans will see on the race track, or for that matter, affect the race teams. We're just trying to make things more competitive for the race teams and the fans".

According to Renegade STARS Racing Series Tech. Director Walter Burson the car construction amendments won't be that big of a concern to the manufacturers or the race teams. "We're amending just a few things which really aren't that big of deal", said Burson. "The amendments we have made won't be a problem provided the manufacturers and race teams don't try to do what we don't want. All we have done is clarify a bit better the rules for the Roll cages, Transmission-Clutch and Rear-End, Traction Control Devices, Fuel Systems and Roof Dimensions".

Membership forms for the 2001 Renegade STARS Racing Series season have been mailed according to Emrick. "Drivers are reminded that in order to receive any season long points or to be eligible for sponsor contingencies, our gaurantee and participant programs, drivers have to be a paid STARS member by July 1 of this year. Drivers can still join after July 1 but they will be eligible for sponsor contingencies only. Any driver that would like to become a member driver and did not receive a membership form should contact our office".

Anyone with questions regarding race rules/procedures can contact Emrick at (330) 682-3053 during normal business hours. Questions regarding car construction/tech. should be directed to Burson at (330) 682-3053 or in the evenings at (330) 767-3011.
