The BoB Boys of the STARS Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Arizona Sport Shirts is set to battle the track they call the "Action Track" - Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Ky this Saturday night May 11th. $3000 will go to the driver that can battle the best in the Bluegrass and tame the "Action Track". The race pays $250 to start. This race will be ran under Battle of the Bluegrass rules and procedures. Series tire rule will be in effect and we will not be racing back to the caution. This past weekend McCoy Motor Speedway saw Harrodsburg driver Timmy Yeager leave with $3000 in his pocket and the honor of winning the first ever Battle of the Bluegrass event. Fans of the Barren Co speedplant call the May 3rd event one of the best races ever at their facility. Then Sunday afternoon, Jesse James Lay of Walton, Ky took the checkered flag for his first Battle of the Bluegrass victory. Richmond Raceway is known around the state for its close racing and competitive field of weekly racers, so adding the BoB Boys to the pack should make for one action packed night. After two races in the quest to be King of the Bluegrass, Yeager is the points leader, with Lay second. Third is rookie Victor Lee, Fourth Brad Barrow & Fifth John Gill. Gates will open at 2pm Saturday with drivers' meeting at 5pm; drivers will take to the track around 5:30 for time trials. 2002 Stars Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series sponsors include: Arizona Sport Shirts, PBM Performance Parts, Racing Optics, Smith Racing Engines, American Race Tires, Estes Automotive & Machine, Wayne Bowen Racing Supply, AMS Racing Engines, CJ Rayburn Race Cars, Racedekals, Ringer Gloves, Design 500, Hoosier Racing Tire, Bert Transmission, AFCO Racing, Outlaw Race Cars, Suspension Spring Specialists & Duralite Wheels.
