BoB Series heading to Thunder Mountain

The STARS Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series by Arizona Sport Shirts will makes it inaugural
trip to Eastern Kentucky for the first time this season as the "BoB boys" visit the Thunder Mountain
Speedway in Olive Hill, KY for a $3000 to win event this Saturday Night, May 18. Benny Christian,
the promoter of the track has refurbished the facility formerly known as Carter County Speedway
as the fans and drivers in the area will see the series for the first time in 2002.



    There will be a complete show for the STARS Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCars time trials,
heat races, consolation events and the 30 lap main event. The 3/8ths mile high banked dirt track
is located approximately75 miles east of Lexington, KY. Directions off of Interstate 64 are to
take exit 161, then travel east three and a half miles northeast on U.S. 60. The track is located west of

    Heading into the fourth event of the 2002 season Jesse James Lay of Walton, KY currently
holds the top spot in the point standings after winning the last two series events. Lay's two wins have come
aboard the Outlaw Racing/Rocket Chassis with American Racer Tires showing the way. Lay holds a
30-point lead over rookie driver Victor Lee of Stanford, KY who is coming off of his best finish
of the year with a second place last Saturday Night at Richmond, KY. Lee is currently leading the
PBM Performance Products Rookie of the Year chase. Timmy Yeager of Harrodsburg, KY is third in
points followed by Joey Daniel ofLiberty, KY and Eddie Carrier, Jr. of Leburn, KY. Approximately
80 different drivers have racedin the new series so far in 2002. For more information on the
